What the tour covers

You leave Labuan Bajo in the dark at five in the morning and hit Padar Island as the sun rises. The staircase is steep and the sun climbs fast, but reviewers María and Annie made the point that this is endurance, not danger, and the reward is the empty viewpoint before the second wave of boats arrives. From there you stop at Pink Beach (the snorkel reef is shallow and busy but the water is warm), then Komodo Island with a ranger to walk behind, then Manta Point (manta rays live there but they are wild and not guaranteed), then a third snorkel stop at Kanawa Island, and back into Labuan Bajo late in the afternoon.

First-time Komodo visitors who want to see the whole park in a single day. Couples, families, and solo travellers who don’t mind a long day and a busy snorkel reef. Not for non-swimmers (the snorkeling stops are the core activity and life jackets are provided, but the exclusions are clear on the operator’s listing).
