What I do
I’ve been running day trips into Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo since 2014. Every week I register passengers through the SiOra permit system, so I know what the system requires and what catches people off guard. I’ve read through the GetYourGuide reviews for every tour on this site, looked at the ratings and the real guest feedback, and written up what you actually get on each one.
This site is not a tour operator and I don’t sell tickets. When you’re ready to book, I send you to GetYourGuide, a licensed reseller. I earn a small affiliate commission when you book through a link here, at no extra cost to you. That’s what keeps the site going.
Why I wrote this
Since April 2026 every visitor to Komodo has had to be pre-registered through SiOra before they board a boat. There are no walk-in tickets. That means booking a tour isn’t the convenient option any more — it’s the mechanism by which you are legally allowed onto the island.
At the same time, every tour on this site collects the park entry fee in cash on the day, at the jetty or on the boat. Most operators don’t advertise this loudly. It’s roughly $22 per person on top of a price you’ve already mentally banked.
Those two things — the SiOra requirement and the hidden cash fee — are why a reader needs someone local to explain what booking actually looks like. The reviews on this site exist so you know exactly what you’re buying and what it will cost by the time you’re standing on the jetty.
